Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The Greeting

By Sakura Kalavitigoda (13 years), Mahamaya Girls’ College, Kandy

I woke up in the morning
Yawning and groaning
Went up to my garden
Where flowers are laden
I skipped near a red rose
And smelled it with the tip of my nose
Aaaagh! I cried
My nose was stinging
A bee flew up, it seemed to be singing
“Good-day my Mizz!
Did you like that Kizz?”
