No show on Friday

Friday’s show of Sri Lanka Tourism ‘ Feel Sri Lanka’ will not be staged on Friday,19 November in view of the celebrations.

 The next show will take place following Friday, 26 November.  The organisers are happy to announce that the last show had attracted over 70 ‘ Free Independent Travellers’  ( FITs)  in addition to the Diplomats, Expatriates and Conference delegates.  The recital now consists with a superb recital of Wes, Thelme, Sabaragamuwa, and Salupaliya with one or two creative dances. ‘Feel Sri Lanka ’ was launched in Colombo by tourism authorities every Friday which is a concert of authentic traditional dances of Sri Lanka specially for tourists, foreign delegates and expatriates.

Ladies Night at Ceylon Continental

 Popular ‘Ladies Night’ will come alive at the Ceylon Continental Hotel on Thursday, 25 November , since the event programmed for 11th of November was postponed  due to the bad weather conditions, prevailing in the city.

 On 25th of November, between the hours of 6.30pm and 9.30pm, the rejuvenated Heist Bar will host three hours of great deals and entertainment which literally begin at the Heist’s entrance. A complimentary beverage and Chef’s Special snack greets ladies as they enter. The night’s entertainment will kick off with a fantastic trendy fashion show by Benares. Free photographs for everyone will be taken courtesy of Metropolitan, a spokesperson from the hotel said.

  The popular unplugged band ‘Sonali & Champaign’ will give the Heist a unique atmosphere, followed by DJ music with Dilan Jay.

One lucky lady will stand a chance to win the “Lady Benares” title and will be  rewarded with the most exclusive gifts of the night a branded designer saree with  an over night  stay for two on half board basis at the Ceylon Continental Hotel.

Thanksgiving Specials at Cinnamon Lakeside

Keeping traditions alive at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, Chef Wasantha, Executive Chef of the Hotel, along with Pastry Chef Jagath Wijesinghe, has prepared a Thanksgiving menu for customers to take home and enjoy in the familiar surroundings of their own dining rooms, whilst clocking in some valuable family time. Orders will be taken at Goodies, the hotel’s pastry shop, and will be ready for collection on Thanksgiving Day, which falls on the 25th of November this year.

On a busy Thursday, take home a Roast Turkey with Cranberry sauce, Giblet Gravy, Roast Sweet Potatoes and Vegetables for Rs. 4,000/- nett per kilo, and take the credit for the veritable feast as your guests indulge! Or opt for a Roast Spring Chicken with Rubesco Sauce, Sweet Potatoes and Vegetables for Rs. 3,200/- nett per kilo or a Honey Roast Ham with Apple Sauce for Rs. 4,200/- nett per kilo. Orders for Turkey will be undertaken for a minimum of four kilos.

Dessert is covered too! The delicious Pumpkin Pie serves twelve portions for just Rs. 1,600/- nett, whilst the Apple Pie at Rs. 1,800/- nett also serves twelve. These Thanksgiving pies are best served warm, and if cake is your dessert of choice, pick up a Fruit Cake that serves eight for Rs. 1,600/- nett.
