AIMS College Colombo offers prestigious Degrees, Master's, MBA and PHD programmes which facilitate students to pursue lucrative careers in exclusive industries. In year 2008, AIMS College in collaboration with EC Council University USA commenced the 'Master of Security Science' in Sri Lanka. AIMS College is the first and only college in Sri Lanka to provide Master's level education in IT Security Science.

AIMS Computer Training Centre inaugurated in the year 1987 with just 2 students, 2 computers and 1 instructor. Today, it is a large educational institute with branches in Negombo, Gampaha, Wattala, Chilaw and Colombo; each branch comprises of 500-600 students. These branches work in collaboration with Gateway Computer School, offering IT and English Lang. programmes from Kindergarten to A/L. In 2004 AIMS Group launched a new subsidiary -'AIMS College'. AIMS College offers Higher Education in Business and IT for 'high end students'.

On November 8, Sunday Times interviewed Dr. Kithsiri Manchanayakke-Chairman AIMS College, and Mr.Ariya Samaraweera- Director of Studies AIMS College. "The Master of Security Science (MSS) programme is intended both for new and experienced graduates alike, who wish to update their skills or change their area of specialization", highlighted Dr. Manchanayakke.

He explained that the course is sufficiently detailed to give an excellent background for a professional career in industrial or commercial organizations, and the required background in security science to enable the student to undertake further study leading to the specializations needed for a research career.

"The aim of this course is to provide excellent career opportunities by offering a high level coverage of security principles and an appreciation of the emerging issues and technologies in network security", noted Mr. Samaraweera.
