Rousseau for the first time in Sri Lanka

The Alliance française de Kandy dedicates its annual Art Week from November 12 - 22, to the French painter Henri Rousseau (1844-1910) in commemoration of the centenary of his death. An exhibition, ‘Henri Rousseau, the Dreamer of Jungles’ will display reproductions of the main works of this popular self-taught artist.

The exhibition will be declared open by Hervé Mascarau, Conseiller de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle, Embassy of France, on Friday, November 12 at 6.30 p.m. A selected group of students will take part in an Art Workshop over the weekend and their works produced at the workshop will be exhibited from November 16 - 22.
