ANC students visit Public Bank Berhad in Malaysia

The students of the Business Club of American National College (ANC) in Colombo visited top 5 corporates in Malaysia on a study tour. This tour was initiated by the college in order to give its business students an insight into the TOP 5 companies in Malaysia. Public Bank Berhad was ranked as one of the top notch corporates. The students were accorded a half day tour of Menara Public Bank, the headquarters located adjacent to the Petronas Twin Towers.

The students were briefed by Ms. Koay Seok Khim , Head of the Knowledge & Training Centre at Head Office about the business, economic , regulatory and cultural issues implicating on the operation of PBB within the Asia Pacific region.

Before the conclusion of the tour the students were taken to various divisions of the Bank which included Corporate Treasury, Red carpet banking and KL City Main office to give them a first- hand banking experience.

The experience received by the students has been invaluable in getting an insight into one of the best managed banks in Malaysia. To add to the many awards won by the bank in 2010, the recent poll by Finance Asia which highlighted Asia's best managed companies in 2010 ranked Public Bank as No.1 for:

  • Best Managed Company
  • Best Corporate Governance
  • Most Committed to a Strong Dividend Policy
  • Best Corporate Social Responsibility

The students of the Club of American National College, Colombo thank the Bank's founder and chairman Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow for giving them this invaluable opportunity to visit Public Bank in Malaysia which had been a truly memorable experience for them.
