Ananda in two wins

Ananda College started off their under 13, division 1 cricket tournament with two fine first innings wins over Ananda Sastralaya-Kotte and Basilica College, Ragama in the first round matches played at Kotte and Ananda Mw, recently.

Rahal Fernando with a fine all round performances of 71 n.o.(9x4, 4x6) and 5for 37 and another courageous knock of 65(11x4) by Nippun Haggalla laid the foundation for Ananda College to have a comfortable victory against Ananda Sastralaya-Kotte .In the second encounter, fine all-round performances by Skipper Nisal Francisco and a responsible half century by Eranga Wickremasinghe paved the way for Ananda to gain a comfortable victory.

Chief scores: Ananda Sastralaya 112 (M. Jayamanne 32: R. Fernando 5 for 37, A. Wilwallaarachchi 3 for 31) and 59 for 4 at close (C. Senaratne 38 n.o.: D. Jayalath 2 for 15)
