The Anna Cross at RC

‘The Anna Cross’, Russian film based on the short story by Anton Chekhov will be screened at 6 pm on Cotber 13 at the Russian Centre, Colombo.

Directed and scripted by Annensky Isidor, the film tells the story of a woman who changes following her marriage of convenience.

To save her family from disgrace and hunger, a young dowerless girl gets married to a rich old man, only to turn into an unscrupulous kept woman who forgets her close ones…

‘The Anna Cross’ was the fourth film by an acclaimed master of literary adaptations, Isidor Annensky, made after A. Chekhov’s works (“The Bear”, “Man in a Shell”, “Marriage”).
