The new principal of D.S. Senanayake College Mr. D.M.D. Dissanayake assumed duties as the 7th Principal of D.S. Senanayake College on September 23 2010.The inception of the school was in 1967 by Mr. R.I.T. Alles.

Mr. Dissanayake carries a wealth of experience in the education sector holding Vice Principal positions at Ananda College Colombo 10, D.S. Senanayake College Colombo 7 and Kekirawa Central College. Prior to joining D.S. Senanayake College as Principal he was a Director Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Education. He is a graduate from the Peradeniya University and also has a Management Degree in Human Resources Development from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Under the proposed new management a joint commitment of the administration board, teachers, parents, students, the Old Boys' Association and the School Development Society will work together to achieve a common goal. Mr. Dissanayake the new Principal appraised the grand vision of the school which in the year 2020 includes an Old Boy occupying a leadership position in the UNO, producing a scientific inventor and probably an Olympic Medalist. The vision gives prominence to sports and science as essentials for the future.
