SWRD’s 51st death anniversary

A ceremony to mark the 51st death anniversary of S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike, former prime minister and founder of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), will be held today at Horagolla.

Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne is scheduled to attend the ceremony, according to the S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike Commemoration Committee.

The ceremony will be conducted in the presence of the Bandaranaike family and will begin in the morning with tributes to the former leader from politicians and diplomats.
