Quarter finalists found

MCA sixes

The eight teams to qualify to the quarter finals of the MCA Annual Open Men’s Hardball Sixes cricket tournament was found after the completion of the round robin matches that were played at the MCA and Thurstan grounds yesterday.

Twelve matches were played at the MCA ground while 11 were played at the Thurstan ground with LOLC failing to turn up to play their matches. The highest team score for the day came from Unichella who made 90 for 3 in the five overs while the lowest was by LB Finance ‘B’ of 29 for 5.
Meanwhile HSBC ‘A’ defeated the fancied and defending champions Sampath Bank by five runs to remain unbeaten in the round robin matches along with Singer, Janashakthi ‘A’ and Unichella.
The quarter final matches will be played at the MCA and the line up is Stafford Motors vs Janashakthi ‘A’, Unichella vs Singer, HSBC ‘A’ vs DPMC and ETI vs LB Finance ‘A’.

At MCA ground – Stafford Motors 55/2 beat Janashakthi ‘B’ 49/6, Janashakthi ‘A’ 67/3 beat Lankem 37/6, Unichella 61/3 beat McCallums Cargo 58/3, Singer 51/2 beat Assetline Leasing 50/2, CDN 57/5 beat Stafford Motors 56/2, Janashakthi ‘A’ 78/1 beat Hayleys Group 48/1, Unichella 90/3 beat Expolanka Freight 48/2, Singer 67/2 beat HSBC ‘B’ 66/5, Janashakthi ‘B’ 67/1 beat CDB 65/4, Lankem 54/1 beat Hayleys Group 53/1, Expolanka Freight 64/2 beat McCallums Cargo 48/2 and HSBC ‘B’ 73/1 beat Assetline Leading 67/2.

At Thurstan ground – Sampath Bank 49/0 beat Hilton Residence 45/3, DPMC 32/0 beat Loadstar ‘A’ 30/5, ETI 72/3 best Loadstar ‘B’ 32/5, LB Finance ‘A’ 78/1 beat Aviva NDB 53/5, HSBC ‘A’ 72/3 beat Sampath Bank 67/3, ETI 30/1 beat LB Finance ‘A’ 29/5, LB Finance ‘A’ 76/1 beat Mt Lavinia Hotel 57/6, HSBC ‘A’ 81/1 beat Hilton Residence 72/3, Loadstar ‘A’ 69/1 beat LB Finance ‘B’ 44/1 and Aviva NDB 68/2 beat Mt Lavinia Hotel 65/1.-MSA
