“Angel-A” at AF Kotte

‘Angel A’ a French film about a girl’s attempt to commit suicide will be screened at 6.30 pm on Thursday September 9 at the Alliance Francaise Kotte.

Angel-A, a tall, no-nonsense blonde with a tart tongue distracts Andre, who is about to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. Angela herself jumps into the Seine, for Andre’s rescue. He un-chivalrously claims to have saved her; giving him what-for, she counters that she saved him. Now she must go about the business of really saving the diminutive Arab, who is the target of mob creditors who want to be paid. In the process Angel-A teaches Andre to love himself, and the two fall in love with each other.

Directed by Luc Besson, this 90 minute 2001 film stars Jamel Debbouze (Andre) and Rie Rasmussen.
This screening is free of charge and open to the public at the AF de Kotte at 139 Jawatte Road, Colombo 05.
