Funday Times - A Poem for the week

My weird glasses
By Salma Naim (11 years), Pristine Private School, Dubai

Those glasses were weird,
Multi-coloured were they,
Awful is how they looked on me.

Daddy said that I looked pretty,
Mommy said that I looked cute,
But sister said that she was about to puke.

I went to school,
Wearing those glasses,
And made myself look like a fool,
I cried and cried,
Until my throat dried.

I sat in the playground,
Very upset,
I was completing my homework,
And felt, hundred percent
Was not what I’d get.

I went home,
Angry as ever,
And found out that I had fever.
Now I’m staying at home,
And will return to school,
With new glasses.
