Nanda Malini brings ‘Shwetha Rathriya’

The winner of twelve Sarasaviya awards and ten Presidential awards for her best playback singing, Visharada Nanda Malani is to make a comeback with ‘Shwetha Rathriya’ on September 14 at the John de Silva Theatre.

The veteran musician who was famous for her controversial solo musical concert ‘Pavana’ comes back after a lapse of 22 long years. The newest solo musical concert titled ‘Shwetha Rathriya’ will be held in collaboration with Sirasa FM.

Starting in 1973 this extraordinary musician started her solo concert – which was the country’s first. In 1981 she went around the country with her solo musical concert ‘Sathyaye Geethaya’ and Pavana in 1987. Since 1988 Nanda Malani did not appear in outdoor public shows on principle.

‘Shwetha Rathriya’ is organized by the MBC Group and its CEO Shanthi Bhagirathan, Visharada Nanda Malini, Sirasa FM Channel Head S. M. Marikkar and veteran lyricist and writer Senior Professor Sunil Ariyaratne were among those who attended the press conference held to announce the show.
