Marga excels in Statistical Analysis

Marga Institute, Centre for Development Studies offered a short Course in Research Methodology in Social Science under its Continuing Learning and Professional Development Programme in February and June to professionals with interest in Social Science Research. In this Course two modules were devoted by way of introduction, to the basics of data analysis using Quantitative Techniques with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).

Participants in the above Course during feedback sessions expressed the need for extending skills further, and the current Course, Statistics in Research, is designed to provide hands on training in using SPSS, which would expand their analytical skills.

The new course covering 17 sessions will commence on Tuesday 2nd September conducting sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.00 to 8.00 p.m. up to 28th October. The main purpose of the Course on Statistics in Research, is to impart skills to researchers and academics in Social, Market and related research areas to have independent command of the techniques and methods to fully utilize the rich social research data gathered and often wasted due to the lack of analytical skills.

For further details on the Course, please contact Marga Institute at 011 - 2888790/91 and visit www.margasrilanka.org
