The Dialog Champions League saw Blue Star and Air Force register slim victories over determined opposition while Police had to settle for a draw, in a series of fixtures, played at a number of different venues yesterday.

Blue Star downed Saunders 1-0 at the Vernon Fernando Stadium in a match witnessed by a large and enthusiastic crowd. It was Blue Star’s Mohamed Farzeen who did the damage with a bit of individual brilliance in the 37th minute that helped him add to an already high goal tally for the season.

In the other victory of the day, Air Force battled Kalutara Park bitterly before eventually registering a 1-0 win at the City Football Complex. Meanwhile in the remaining game of the day, Police maintained their unbeaten record in the league when they drew 1-1 to Army.

It was Army who drew first blood when they scored in the first half of the match at the Kelaniya Football Complex. However the Policemen managed to recover and equalize in the second half.
