Colts dominate proceedings against Moratuwa SC

Colts continued their dominance over Moratuwa SC when play stopped at the end of the Under 23 Division One cricket encounter played at the Colts ground.

Moratuwa SC resuming from their overnight score of 44 for 1 made steady progress in the morning session of play as they went into lunch on 213 for 5. The post lunch session saw them losing wickets at regular intervals and managed to add only a further 54 runs making 277. This was in reply to the home teams formidable score of 368 which came on the back three half tons from Tharindu Thushan who made a top score of 76 with ten boundaries and three sixes, Roshen Silva and Chathuranga Kumara.

An unbeaten knock of 115 with 15 boundaries by Janaka Peiris was the highlight of the second days play between Air Force and Navy played at Welisara. Janaka’s knock saw the Airmen resuming from their overnight score of 126 for 2 end their innings making a massive 469 in reply to the Sailors 187.
