Lankan ‘A’ routed

The visiting New Zealanders made short work of Sri Lanka “A” when they beat the later by a huge margin of 185 runs in their one-day practice game at the Pallekelle Stadium, yesterday.
Batting first the visitors ran to make 276 for 7 with opener P.J. Watling (74), skipper Ross Taylor (47) and Jacob Oram (61 not out) leading the way.

The Lankans in their turn found the pace of Kyle Mills (3 for 20) too hot to handle as they initially slumped to 3 for 24 and then collapsed to 91 all out.

Sri Lanka 91 all out (22.4 overs) (LHD Dilhara 19, Akalanka
