First Class Honours for ICBT students from Middlesex University, UK

ICBT students studying for Middlesex programmes in Sri Lanka have received excellent results according to recently released results from UK. Eight students studying at ICBT Campus for BSc Information Technology programme have obtained First Class Honours Degrees from Middlesex University of UK. Five students from Colombo and three students from Kandy are receiving this accolade from Middlesex University UK. In addition Colombo has 8 students receiving 2nd Upper and ten students receiving 2nd Lower Degrees at the same examinations.

Further to the 3 first class Degrees in ICBT Kandy Campus seven other students will receive 2nd Upper class and further five students receiving 2nd Lower Degrees from Middlesex.

Middlesex University prestigious British University based in London offers a wide range of Bachelor's and Master's Degree programmes in Sri Lanka at ICBT Campus offering students a unique opportunity to obtain British qualifications while studying in Sri Lanka. All programmes are academically controlled and quality assured by Middlesex University as "Internal Qualifications" students who complete the programmes can attend the graduation ceremony in UK.

Excellent results are a testament to high teaching capabilities both human resources and facilities at ICBT Campus. Lecturers for Middlesex programmes are highly qualified and with years of industry experience. All lecturers are selected by Middlesex and monitored for compliance with stringent quality procedures of both ICBT and Middlesex.

Commenting on the results this year Ms. Pirkko Harvey, Centre Director Middlesex University said I am very pleased to see the growth in a number of students studying Middlesex University franchised degrees at ICBT campuses, this shows the partnership is working very well. Looking at this year's results; a high percentage of computing graduates, from both City and Kandy campuses, gained first class degrees; ICBT graduates have shown that they are academically very capable. I would like to congratulate all graduates for working hard and also the ICBT tutors for the tuition and support they have provided these students throughout the year.

Middlesex University will also offer a scholarship to the highest achieving graduate to come and study one of the computing MSc programmes at Middlesex University. It will also offer a scholarship to the highest achieving graduate to come and study one of the computing MSc programmes at Middlesex University London with full exemption of the normal tuition fees.
