Sri Rahula triumph

A good all-round effort by the Under 17 cricketers of Sri Rahula College Katugastota helped them to defeat Kingswood College by six wickets in a key Division One match played at Peradeniya. Sri Rahula entered the second round as a result of this win.Off spinner Supun Asela (8-3-8-3), skipper Rajitha Ranatunga and Sampath Pushpakumara (43 n.o) were the architects of this win.

Opener M. Weerakoon and late-order bat N.C. Unambuwe stood out for Kingswood. Kingswood 126 for 8 in 36 overs (W.M. Weerakoon 33, N.C. Unambuwe 24 n.o, I. Walisundera 11; S. Asela 3 FOR 8, M. Shiron 2 for 16)
