Rishan and Angelo helps NCC make bold reply

NCC opener Rishan Kavinga and Angelo Perera helped NCC make a bold reply against Navy SC when play ended on day two in their Under 23 inter-club encounter at Welisara. Rishan cracked an 80 ball knock of 107 comprising 20 boundaries and two sixes while Angelo made a 82 ball 85 with five boundaries and six sixes enabling NCC make a formidable 311 for 6 in reply to Navy’s score of 259.

The duo was also associated in fruitful partnerships with Rishan putting on a opening stand of 98 runs with Primosh Perera while Angelo was associated in two partnerships first of 69 for the fifth wicket with Prabadha Arthavidu and the other of 60 runs for the sixth wicket with skipper Roshan Laksiri.

Shehan puts Moors on top
Left handed middle order batsman Shehan Jayasuriya made a fine 124 to put Moors on top against BRC at the end of the second days play at the BRC ground.

Shehan’s marathon innings which came off 235 balls included 12 boundaries and four sixes. He was involved in a 151 runs stand for the sixth wicket with Irosh Samarasooriya enabling Moors make a mammoth 356 for 7 in reply to BRC’s 179.

Wimanga Perera steered Ragama CC with a half ton enabling the side to reach 223 for 7 against Colts on day two in their Under 23 encounter played at the Colts ground.

Colts taking first lease of the wicket after skipper Rajeewa Weerasinghe won the toss were unable to make any headway. They lost wickets at regular intervals before being bowled out for 209.

Lahiru Sri Lakmal with a knock of 74 helped Bloomfield to end the second days play making 156 for 5 in their Under 23 match against Chilaw Marians played at Reid Avenue.

This was in reply to the Marians who resumed from their overnight score of 237 for 8 and ended up making 259. Marians all-rounder Maduka Liyanapathirana who top scored making 46 ended with impressive figures of 3 for 34 from 18 overs of which five were maidens.

Skipper Chamesh Fernando and Sanka Peiris guided Moratuwa SC against Seeduwa/Raddoluwa CC with a fourth wicket stand of 111 runs as they ended the second day’s play making 227 for 6. This was in reply to Seeduwa/Raddoluwa’s score of 207 in their Under 23 encounter played at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa.
