Monash University Foundation Year

A world recognized equivalent to A/Levels

Students just after O/Levels can start now at ANC Education, the exclusive provider of the Monash University Foundation Year in Sri Lanka. Students who finished O/Ls in 2010 will sit their A/Ls in 2012 June, by the time they get their results it will be August 2012. Therefore students can commence only in February 2013 in Australian universities. With ANC Education offering the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) programme locally, students can enter into pre-university studies with O/L results where they study only 1 year of foundation study compared to 2 years of A/L study. This allows them to start a prestigious Australian university degree in 2011, i.e. 2 ½ - 3 years ahead of their peers.

University Foundation programmes have been developed by elite universities, such as Monash University (ranked among the top 50 universities in the world*), especially to assist international students with their transition to university. MUFY has been delivered globally and is well respected by academics who understand the importance of thorough preparation of students for tertiary study. It is a qualification that is equivalent to A/Ls and is simply another pathway for a student to enter an international university. MUFY is also recognized by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) as an Australian year 12 qualification for student visa purposes.

For many parents this is a new concept and often they are not aware that these internationally recognized programmes have such high standing in top universities around the world. Parents need to understand that they offer a strong preparation and focus students towards the degree and career of their choice.

MUFY is an eight month programme designed by Monash University that prepares students for their desired Australian university destination degree in a variety of areas including Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Medicine, Biosciences, Law, and much more.

Students can select from a variety of subjects specifically tailored to lead them to the degree of their choice. Assessment is based on internal performance and examinations set by qualified academics from Monash University Australia and emphasis is placed on steady performance throughout the programme. This enables students to acquire the initiative and skills necessary to succeed in a university environment.

Upon successful completion of the MUFY programme, students are provided with a guaranteed entry into the prestigious degrees at Monash University on achieving the required average. Monash University is ranked internationally amongst the top 50 universities in the world* and is in the prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) top universities in Australia. Monash University is acclaimed for its research excellence, quality of teaching and diversity of courses offered. With eight state-of-the art campuses in Australia, Malaysia and South Africa, Monash University is a truly global university with a diverse and multicultural atmosphere.

The MUFY programme can also be used as an entry qualification when applying to many other top universities hence providing Sri Lankan students with unlimited opportunities to pursue the degree of their dreams in Australia, New Zealand, UK and Malaysia. In joining the MUFY programme with O/Ls you can be years ahead of the others. The Monash University Foundation Year - a bold step towards making your dream into a reality.
