Theme Nights Dining at the Continental

Ceylon Continental continues to impress diners by offering innovative and sumptuous experiences at its recently debuted Theme Nights Promotion, held from Thursday to Saturday and geared to repeat weekly.
Designed to attract patrons looking for specific, authentic experiences, a vibrant variety of Arabic, Sri Lankan, Indian and Western cuisine did not disappoint.

A Hotel spokesperson commented ‘As a re-emerging, newly inspired hotel in Colombo, it is our intent to lay down a new standard of options and experience. The typical Colombo connoisseur is uniquely demanding of great food and memorable events. Three nights of exotic dining with variations of the calibre offered at Theme Nights, are not to be missed’.

On Thursday , Koftha, Kebab and Shawarma Night saw diners tucking into delicacies such as Cuttle Fish Kebabs, Cheese Kofthas, and Chicken Shawarmas with Garlic Paste and Arabic Bread. Patrons were allowed to formulate their own creative concoctions through special action stations.

On Friday, the Seafood Night buffet hosted by Emerald included items such as Prawn Brochette on Spicy Sweet Salad, crispy Crepe with Crab meat and the much loved Lagoon Crab Stir Fry. Just metres away at the North Indian restaurant Tandoor, guests were treated to a spread of authentic Moghal dishes in buffet style.

Saturday’s Hopper Night continued cheerfully at the pool side. Classical dishes were reinterpreted, leading to novel varieties such as Savoury, Tandoori, Spicy Omelet, and Jaggery Hoppers, and the highlight of the night - the revolutionary Ice Cream Kottu, proclaimed an immediate favourite.
