Two Nigerians arrested over building scam

Two Nigerian nationals have been taken into police custody for allegedely cheating a medical specialist at a private hospital in Trincomalee.

According to the Trincomalee Police, the two Nigerians had taken Rs. 250,000 and an additional US$7,000 on a promise that they would construct a new building on the hospital premises.

Following the arrests, the police found sophisticated equipment for forging Sri Lankan and foreign currency notes in the Nigerians’ possession.
