New fusion menu and Tea Lounge at CASA Colombo

The Conde Nast Hotlist and Hot-tables hotel Casa Colombo has launched its brand new fusion cuisine menu. It features an eclectic collection of French, Italian and American style dishes prepared with hints of Sri Lankan and Asian flavour and infusions.

Prepared by the hotel’s owner Lalin Jinasena together with their Chef Sampath Raweendra the food is unfussy, yet interesting, affordably priced and delightfully tantalizing. The menu features refreshing soups like the ‘Chilled golden melon soup infused with lemongrass and ��garinished with roasted cashew nuts’.

Fresh crunchy salads, and a great selection of mains which include fish, vegetarian, poultry and beef. A great example is the ‘Ginger and coconut encrusted Mahi-Mahi with a Thai salad and chili glazed tapioca’. The menu also features Sri Lankan favorites like Mulligatawny soup, Sri Lankan rice and curry and Kothu roti, intended for the regular locals as well as to give the resident foreign guests of the hotel a taste of Sri Lanka.

Casa Colombo’s signature Cappuccino Chocolate mouse bomb is ever present on the menu along with Key lime Panna Cotta and many other delicious desserts.

The food is prepared using Halal certified ingredients, and the restaurant is open for Lunch and Dinner. Casa Colombo is a great venue to entertain friends, family and business partners. For those who want to drop in for lunch, Casa Colombo has a set price of Rs. 900/-per person for a three course meal with a choice of any item from the menu. Guest can also bring their own choice of alcoholic beverages to accompany their meal.

‘T-Republic’ is Casa Colombo’s fabulous new Tea Lounge and its menu features a great selection of Ceylon tea and tea in all its forms and glory. ‘T-Junkie’ is a famous signature of Casa Colombo, where customers get a range of tea from different estates, a whole selection of condiments and flavorings, a choice of sugars and milk and unlimited pots of water, to create every conceivable preparation of tea you like and best of all to enjoy it with a friend.

Also famous is the ‘Casa Colombo High T’ with the traditional scones, cucumber sandwiches, cookies, fruits and of course that famous cup of Ceylon Tea. More in style with Casa Colombo is the selection of “Iced T Shots”, non-alcoholic flavoured teas served in cute shot glasses and featuring a whole range of flavours to mix and match.

T-Republic also has a light cafe menu of snacks and sandwiches, ideal for easy bites on those lazy afternoons with a book, your laptop (with free Wi-Fi), or just chilling by the glorious pink pool that is known to be the only one of its kind in the world.

Casa Colombo hotel and it’s 12 designer suites have become famous around the world for it’s sense of style, character and charming service. The hotel is a home away from home for most regular foreign businessmen visiting Colombo and the delightful stopover for tourists seeking stylish accommodation in Colombo. It is used by many local companies for its foreign partners and visitors and offers rates starting from US$100 per double with breakfast.
