Lalith Priyantha does it again

By Maxie Kariyawasam

Lalith Priyantha competing in the Masters Class at the Chrys Gunaratne Memorial all Island ranking tournament conducted by the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka held on the 7th – 9th May at St. Thomas’ Sports complex proved beyond all doubt that he is still one of the best paddlers in the country by winning the final of the above event beating former National Player Jagath Rajapakse who in presently a Senior T.T. Coach in France in the Final.

Determination and self belief was the hallmark of this win as Lalith lost the first two sets to Rajapakse but the belief that he is the absolute best helped him to win the next three sets and the title. That he outfoxed Rajapakse with his services was crystal clear to all spectators. This is the 2nd tournament that Lalith has won for the year, the first was the Dhammika Gunaratne Memorial tournament also conducted by the T.T.A.S.L. This proved beyond doubt that you just cannot keep a good and talented man down.
