Pulasthi’s aptitude for art was primarily discovered by the reputed watercolour artist and teacher M.D.S. Gunatillake who guided him to grasp the finer points and techniques of watercolour and other media.

Pulasthi paints with remarkable freedom and has a rare confidence in using colour. The 15- year-old student of Trinity College, Kandy has a long list of awards to his credit.

He paid a glowing tribute to Deepika Gamlath, former art teacher of the primary at Trinity College who gave him timely motivation and guidance. He is also thankful to art teachers Sarath Henagama and Mr. Somasiri and particularly his beloved teacher M.D.S. Gunatillake.

His father, a reputed photographer and nature lover takes him often on field trips giving him many opportunities for inspiration.
