The Bata-Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Contest for 2010 resumed with vigour after the Sinhala-Tamil New Year break.
Raihaan Rizvi Carey College with 22641 votes and Geshan Wimaladharma of Ananda College -Colombo 3227 votes continued their rivalry with Nishal Fonseka of St.Benedict’s –Kotahena 2512 votes and Kithruwan Vithanage of Royal College Colombo (1474 votes) in third and fourth spots in the All Island Schools Contest at the end of the Count 12.
In the Outstation Contest G.Ayesh Madushan of Holy Cross Vidyalaya –Kalutara with 5602 votes and Nalin Priyadharshana of Siri Piyarathana Vidyalaya-Padukka (3870 votes) are the top most contenders.
In the International Schools competition International School Contest the two contenders who are heading the field are: Shaji Rayyan Samman of Lyceum International School-Wattala (5298 votes) and Nesarajaha Revenson of Lyceum International School-Wattala (5127 votes)
