Funday Times - A Poem for the week

Grandma and Grandpa
By Uvani Dissanayake (13 years) Lyceum International School, Nugegoda

“Once there was a dog,
Who slept like a log”,
Begins my grandpa,
Telling stories from afar.

He is a man of magic,
Who is never lethargic,
And though he is old on the outside,
He is really young inside.

“Now come here child”,
Says a voice gentle and mild,
This is my dear grandmother,
A person like no other.

The elders are nice,
They are also very wise,
And so is my grandpa,
And so is my grandma.
