Lecturer killed in road accident

A lecturer attached to the Eastern University of Sri Lanka, in Batticaloa, died in a road accident yesterday morning.

Ehambaram Maheshwaran, 47, the father of three, was riding his motorcycle when he was hit by a back-up Army vehicle that was accompanying Minister Ameer Ali on his election campaign.

Another motorcycle rider, a bank manager, was injured in the incident.
