Janashakthi chasing 171 runs were making steady progress but were unfortunate not to reach the target by two runs. It was opener Mahela Udawatte who guided them to victory with 65 ball knock of 118 which included 11 boundaries and six sixes. He along with Prasanna Jayawardena (who made 54) gave the side a roaring start putting on 102 runs in just 54 balls helping them to make a formidable 220.

John Keells in their turn were nowhere near the target due to some fine bowling and succumbed to 75. The final between Sampath Bank and Unichella is scheduled to be played this evening. This will be preceded with the third place play off between Janashakthi and John Keells.
