Soul Funk Sunday @ Park Sreet Mews

By Sanath Weerasuriya

‘Soul Funk Sunday’ at Park Street Mews is the new place in Colombo for funky people to meet and enjoy a perfect Sunday afternoon and evening with friends, food and soulful grooves.

’Soul Funk Sunday’ resident DJs Tareeq and Misodisko have been digging deep to unearth some of the best and rarest funk, soul and old school classics from the 70’s and 80’s, plus a few fun surprises.
‘Soul Funk Sunday’ is devoted to playing all its music from vinyl records on phonographic turntables – symbolic to the era.

‘Our focus is to bring together like minded people who appreciate all things retro, original and artistic’ said Dharshani Sumanasekera, the new Director- Gr. P R & Admin of the Group.

Whether you feel like lounging in a beanbag with an ice coffee or enjoying a beer with a choice of soulful snacks… Soul Funk Sunday is an event as rare in Colombo as the tunes its DJs are spinning.

Tareeq and Misodisko are going to provide the perfect Sunday afternoon soundtrack for you and your friends, mixing the funkiest tunes from George Clinton, Parliament, Ray Charles, via Curtis Mayfield to the Queen and Godfather of Soul James Brown and Aretha Franklin.

Soul Funk Sunday is collaboration between The DJ Academy - Sri Lanka and Park Street Mews.
