Inspiring to achieve

By Megara Tegal

‘By the students, for the students’, would be the best way to describe ‘Zeal 2010’- Inspire to Achieve. Organised by the management students of National Institute of Business Management (NIBM), the workshop is designed to provide undergraduates of both local and external universities in Sri Lanka, with necessary know-how that can only be gained through more active means than off a text book.

The topics to be discussed will include improving leadership qualities, team work and personality development and enhance their knowledge about social etiquettes while giving students exposure in the corporate world.

“These topics are critical for developing leading professionals who can carry out work independently.
It is very important for today’s business professionals to have certain soft skills along with the technical knowledge.

These skills are hard to be taught through lectures other than a workshop of this nature, “ said a member of the organising committee.

The workshop is open to undergraduates of all streams, “Any student from any stream can participate in this event as the topics addressed will be common and beneficial to all to succeed in their future career”, says the organising team, going on to say that the workshop will give the students the opportunity to meet and interact with students from other universities.

The workshop will be held on March 21, at Hotel Ranmuthu, Colombo- 3. It is a full day event, from 9am to 5pm. Tickets are priced at Rs. 400/- and will include meals as well. For more information and to reserve tickets feel free to contact Thanushka on 0779 070 824.

The organising committee, requests that all those who would like to participate in the workshop reserve their tickets and purchase them on or before March 17 as there are only a limited number of tickets being issued.
