T. Dharmarajah - New President of AAT Sri Lanka

Mr. Dharmarajah is a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka. He has served as a Member of the Governing Council of AAT Sri Lanka for over 10 years and as Secretary and Vice President of AAT Sri Lanka during the last 4 years.

The revised syllabus of the Association has been designed by the Curriculum Development Committee of AAT Sri Lanka, which was chaired by him. In fact, it was Mr. Dharmarajah who initiated and played the key role in the formulation of the New Syllabus which will be effective from June 2010 Examination of the Association. Mr. Dharmarajah served as Chairman of various Committees of the Association including the Finance and Administration Committee and Annual Conference Committee.

Mr. Dharmarajah is a practising Chartered Accountant working for a reputed Audit Firm.

He is a Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. He is also a Member of Development Committee of NAITA (National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority) established to Prepare National Competency Standards for the Accounting Sector. He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Public Finance and Development Accountancy.

He has an honorary Degree in Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenapura and is a Higher National Diploma holder of the Technical College of Sri Lanka. Mr. Dharmarajah is a very popular lecturer in the field of Accountancy, and has been lecturing for more than 25 years at various Universities (Visiting Lecturer), National Educational Institute, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Technical College of Sri Lanka and many private educational institutes.

He has authored 5 books on Sri Lanka Accounting Standards and Company Accounts in the Sinhala language.
