Kumar and Tharanga guide MAS Kandurata

Bank of Ceylon Inter-Provincial T20

Half tons by skipper Kumar Sangakkara who slammed a 29 ball 51 and Tharanga Paranavithana who made a 35 ball 50 helped MAS Holdings Kandurata record an easy eight wicket win over SLC Combined XI in the Bank of Ceylon inter-provincial T20 encounter played at the Pallekelle Stadium yesterday.
MAS Kandurata chasing 139 for victory was given a flying start by openers Tharanga and Kaushalya Weeraratne who together put on 56 runs. This was followed by another 47 runs stand between skipper Kumar and Tharanga enabling the side reach the target in the 15th over.

Earlier in the day SLC Combined XI invited to bat first were unable to produce any useful partnership but managed to keep the scoreboard and last the allotted 20 overs for a score of 138. Mahela match winner for Wayamba
Mahela Jayawardena steered Wayamba to a five wicket win over Hirdaramani Ruhuna in the Bank of Ceylon inter-provincial T20 encounter played at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala. Ruhuna taking first lease of the wicket made 127 with Wayamba reaching the required target of 128 in the 19th over.

Kulasekera and Vaas steer Basnahira North
Right arm pacies Nuwan Kulasekera and veteran Chaminda Vaas steer Basnahira South to a comfortable 54 runs win over Basnahira South in another match played at the Welagedera Stadium. Nuwan and Chaminda shared six wickets as Basnahira South chasing 163 runs for victory were restricted to a score of 109.
