The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has launched a probe to ascertain whether foreign sources funded opposition’s defeated candidate retired General Sarath Fonseka’s campaign at last month’s presidential election.

 
Court Martial: Fonseka sticks to his guns and turns deaf ear

A senior Army officer this week almost completed recording “summary of evidence,” a prelude to a General Court Martial against retired General Sarath Fonseka, despite him boycotting the proceedings. They are held in the Officer’s Mess (Ward Room) of Navy Headquarters.
