Raihaan Rizvi takes the lead
Kumar Ariyanathan from Jaffna Central is also in the fray

Raihaan Rizvi from Carey College, Maradana performed a Harry Houdini when he came from nowhere to displace the top five of the first count of the ‘The Sunday Times-Bata’ Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Contests at the end of count No 2.

Anandian Geshan Wimaladharma who was leading the fray is now in second place while Peterite Shehan Fernando is now in sixth position.

At the end of the second count Rizvi is in the lead with a healthy 775 votes while Wimaladharma has polled 279 votes.

It is pointing out to be a sharp tussle in the Outstation Contest too. Once again Nalin Priyadharshana from Siri Piyarathana MV Padukka has come over to take the second place with 188 votes. However, G. Ayesh Madushan, who was leading at the first count, is still looking safe with 343 votes against his name.
In the International Schools’ Contest Naushid Nuhuman and Yokanth Ravichandrakumar - both from Lyceum International, Wattala are still occupying the first two slots with 61 and 36 votes respectively against their names.

Another noteworthy factor is that for the first time in many years there is a contestant from Jaffna Central College - Kumar Ariyanathan coming in with eight votes to occupy the fourth position of the Outstation Contest. 1
