Revatha MMV outclass St. Aloysius

Revatha MMV Balapitiya outclassed St. Aloysius Galle by 137 runs at Balapitiya yesterday. The heros of Revatha MMV’s win were right arm pacie Janik Chathuranga and left arm spinner Shehan Manuran who shared eight wickets between them to bowl out the Aloysians, who were chasing 263, to a low score of 125.

Denham and Angelo lead Petes fight back

Denham Perera with 111 and Angelo Emmanuel (99) led St. Peter’s fight back against Royal in their inter-school match which ended in a draw at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Denham and Angelo put on a partnership of 190 runs for the third wicket helping the Peterites batting the second time with a deficit of 183 runs end the day on 271 for 8.

Royal spinner Maneesha Tantrigoda who had figures of 8 for 32 followed it up with another five wickets to end the game with a match bag of 13 for 130.

Earlier in the day Royal resuming from their overnight score of 232 for 2 went on to make a formidable 338 for 3 with overnight batsmen Imal Liyanage made 122 with 11 boundaries and two sixes and Madusha Rajaratne made an unbeaten 67. The pair was associated in a 140 runs stand for the third wicket.
