A different sound

From rock to hip hop, this year’s ‘Revolution of Sound’ will have a mix of genres appealing to a wider audience. Presented by the Interact Club of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, the show commonly known as ‘Revo’, will comprise 11 bands, including solo artistes and four dance performances.

The main attraction is popular local duo Bathiya and Santhush, with other performances by Doctor, Battery, Five Minutes Apart, Helter Skelter, Sameera and Nadisha. “Each year we do something different, and this year we’ve arranged for Bathiya and Santhush to perform at the concert, which is something we haven’t been able to do before,” says Samdharu Ferdinando, the President of the Interact Club of S. Thomas’ College. “There are some new bands that will be performing at the concert and this will give them some exposure,” he adds.

Funds raised by the concert will be spent on community service projects, school service projects, an army camp, youth exchange programme and donations towards an orphanage. Catch Revolution of Sound- The sounds, the moves, the revolution’, on February 12 at 7:30pm at the Bishop’s College Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance on February 12.
