By M. Shamil Amit

Prince of Wales were home for tea when they outclassed DSS by nine wickets in their own den in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Wijerama Mawatha yesterday.

Later Isuru Thilina and Buddika Alwis frustrated the home team bowlers with some sensible batting. Isuru cracked a 116 which included 13 boundaries with Buddika making a contribution of 54 helping the side make a formidable 281.

Tense draw at Lake View

By Aubrey Kuruppu

A turning wicket made for an exciting low-scoring match in which 37 wickets fell, as Dharmaraja and Trinity played out a tense draw at Lake View yesterday.

In front by 38 runs, the Trinitians made a hash of their second innings and were bowled out for a mere 23.2 overs for 76.

Pursuing a target of 115, the Rajans were in deep trouble at 47 for 7 when Lahiru Herath and Hemal Munaweera dug in and took the score to 74. With the spinners unable to make further inroads, Trinity opted for pace. Predictably the match was stopped for bad light and never restarted.
