New book by Merrill

Veteran newspaper editor Merrill Perera, in his fourth anthology of profiles of outstanding personalities records a series of anecdotes, many of which are thought-provoking and tinged with humour.

The assortment of personalities in the book, selected by the author, both local and international includes those who have contributed to comedy, music, poetry, literature, politics etc. More interestingly, the author reviews the character of the world’s most ruthless warmonger, Prabhakaran covering some unusual vicissitudes of his life.

Merrill’s previous works, ‘Ayubowan Armour Veediya', ‘Divaine Visi Vesak', 'Sabaye Paththarakarayo,’ etc relate to day-to-day themes. He addresses issues of the common man. This new book, Peni Walalu, as the title itself denotes, explores new avenues and aesthetic values in life.
