Metal is back on stage

As the title suggests Back on The Stage is a concert that will be bringing some of Sri Lanka’s best rock and metal bands back on one stage. So make sure to get yourself down Zouk Club— Galadari today at 3:30pm! What brings these particular bands together, even though their music is slightly diverse, is the single aspect they share in common. All the bands that will be performing at the concert—Tantrum, The Fuzmechan-X, Hollow and Nemesis, have participated in TNL Onstage and walked away with the ‘best band’ category title on the evening of the finals.

The concert is organised by Tantrum, the oldest winner of TNL Onstage among the four bands that will be performing having won the competition back in 2005. What’s more is Tantrum, see themselves humorously as a occult power of sorts that broke the curse that had plagued the competition.

The curse was that, in the first 6 years of the competition all the groups that won the competition disbanded - that however came to a screeching halt once Tantrum won because since then the other bands to have won, have been more serious about their music and kept it together through the years at all cost.

An afternoon for the metal heads and rockers, Tantrum will take the main stage and will be performing more of their recent songs, with a few well known old songs and covers tossed in. Lead vocalist and Front man, Javeen also says there will be some surprises to look forward to. Ranging from groovy jazz, hard rock and heavy metal the concert is geared to be a treat for all those who appreciate rock music. Tickets are priced at Rs. 500/- and will be sold at the gate. More information can be found at Tantrum’s official Myspace page http://www.myspace.com/tantrumsl

Last week, in the article carried on Back on The Stage, it was inadvertently mentioned that the concert would be held on December 11. But please note the concert is to be held today, December 6, at Club Zouk, 3.30pm onwards.
