Funday Times - A Poem for the week

At the zoo
By Vikashana Srikanth (10 years), Ceylinco Sussex College, Negombo

I saw a brown bear,
A roaring lion too,
And a striped tiger,
At the zoo.

I saw a monkey,
Sitting on a tree.
There was a macaw,
Fluttering its wings free.

There were flamingoes,
As pink as ever can be,
A chimpanzee I saw,
Shouting with glee.

A crow there was,
A nasty one,
I saw it ate,
A chocolate bun.

I was surprised,
By a green snake,
It was lying still,
Which I thought was fake.

It was a happy,
And an enjoyable day me,
Then I went home,
And had my tea.
