A complaint has been made against a Police sub-inspector who had allegedly assaulted a man whose motor cycle had collided with another motor cycle at the Matale junction resulting in an old man and a child on the other motor cycle being injured, Galewelapolice said.

All the injured had been transported to the Galewela hospital to which the SI had reportedly gone and carried out the assault.

It was reported that M. Ranshan (22) was assaulted by the SI at the place of the accident and later when he was hospitalized the SI had allegedly assaulted him again according to the entry made by the victim’s father. The injured motor cyclist was later transferred to the Kurunegala hospital.
