Rhythmic journey with Ravibandu

Renowned percussionist Ravibandu Vidyapathi is probably the only artiste in Sri Lanka who has performed on invitation with the world famous artistes such as Zakir Hussain and Billy Cobaham at international shows.

With his international exposure and knowledge in music and percussion art, Ravi believes that like African drums, Sri Lanka’s unique drum rhythms and sounds too can be promoted in the international music arena.

To support Ravi’s endeavour in promoting Sri Lanka’s percussion arts in the international scene and to offer local audiences the rare opportunity to witness a world class percussion and dance show, the Araliya Group of the Past Pupils’ Association of Ravi’s alma mater Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya together with the Ravi and the Samanthi Ensemble will stage a dance and drumming show at the BMICH on November 21at 6 p.m.

The show promises to be an explosive and dynamic visual treat. Proceeds from the show will be directed to the education of deprived children.
