Travel programme should go online

The Rupavahini travel programme broadcast on Saturdays at 7.30 p.m. is interesting and of great educational value, and has lots of potential to boost tourism in this country.

The programme takes the viewer on a fascinating tour through the beautiful landscapes of the hill country. The commentary by the Rupavahini crew as they interview station masters and the people they meet on the way is a real pleasure. And the camera work is superb. As the train stops at different locations, we are given detailed accounts of the areas surrounding each railway station.

If this travel and education TV programme is fed into the Internet, it would catch the eye of the international community and serve our tourist industry.
