Dancing accolade to Dissanayake

Veteran dancer and academic, Prof. Mudiyanse Dissanayake will be felicitated for his colossal contribution to local arts on today, November 1 at 4.30 pm at the BMICH.

Celebrating his 36th years service to the local dance scene and generations of his students the event titled ‘Madu Muditha Rasoja’.

On this day a book titled ‘Prof. Mudiyanse Dissanayake: Lalitha Kala Karya Sadanaya’ written by university lecturer and also a student of Prof. Dissanayke ,Nishadi Rathnavali will be launched in tribute of her guru.

Published by Godage publications, the book covers unique contributions made by Prof. Dissanayake to this country and the dance and it would be an essential handbook for the students of dance in future.

Prof. Dissanayake is the Director of Post Graduate Unit of the University of Aesthetic Studies.
