WASHINGTON, Oct 23, (AFP) -A smiling US President Barack Obama and his family, arms around one another, feature in a new official photo by Annie Leibovitz, the renowned celebrity photographer.
The picture, posted by the administration on its Flickr photo feed Friday, shows a smiling and relaxed First Family in the Green Room of the White House.
Obama's daughter Sasha, 8, has an arm on the president's shoulder, while her sister Malia, 11, sits perched on her mother Michelle Obama's chair in the image, taken on September 1.
Leibovitz, who has spent months staving off serious financial problems, is frequently spotted around the White House with special access for a project for Vanity Fair magazine.
She has taken several of the most famous images of Obama and his family, and her portfolio also includes celebrated pictures of John Lennon, nude and pregnant actress Demi Moore, and portraits of Queen Elizabeth II.
Leibovitz last month won a reprieve from possible bankruptcy after her creditors agreed to an extension of a 24-million-dollar loan. |
