Heeding a directive of Mount Lavinia Chief Magistrate Harsha Setunge, the President of the Golden Key Depositors Association Anusha Emmer on Friday gave a statement to the CID on a death threat leveled against her by some identified persons.

This matter was brought to the notice of the court by counsel appearing for GK depositors, Sumudu Liyanage when the Golden Key fraud case was taken up for hearing on Thursday.

The magistrate directed the CID, to record complaints of depositors and investigate them and submit a report on their investigations at the next hearing as there had been threats leveled against the witnesses.

Ms Emmer told the Sunday Times FT that an emergency general meeting of the GK Depositors Association will be convened on October 24 at the S. De.S. Jayasinghe Memorial Hall at Dehiwela to resolve an internal crisis of the association.
