Dhanuka and Roshane put Colts in box seat

Colts skipper Dhanuka Pathirana and Roshane Silva put the home side in the box seat on day two of their Premier league cricket encounter against Ragama CC at the Colts ground.

The pair put on a partnership of 104 runs for the third to help the home side end the second day on a formidable 277 for 6 in reply to Ragama CC’s 117.

Dhanuka made a fine 78 from 116 balls which included six boundaries and two sixes while Roshane made a 73 ball 49 with two boundaries and a six.

Earlier in the day Ragama CC resuming from their overnight score of 107 for 7 lasted only a further five overs being bowled out for 117 with overnight batsman Lahiru Thirimanne who was on 46 going on to make half ton.

Right arm pacie Harvir Baidwan added two more wickets in the morning session to finish off with impressive figures of 4 for 16 with support coming from off spinner Dilruwan Perera who took two wickets.

The Colts inning was initiated by an opening stand of 72 runs between Ishan Muthaliph and Kushal Perera who also made a knock of 51 from 72 balls which had nine hits to the ropes.

Yohan and Chanaka steer NCC
Half tons by opener Yohan de Silva and Chanaka Wijesinghe who made identical knocks of 51 supported by a knock of 43 by Angelo Perera helped NCC reach 251 after being sent to bat by Badureliya CC who ended the day on 28 for 2 in their match at the NCC ground. There was no play on the opening day due to a wet outfield.
