YMCA Sing – along at Ranmal

The Moratuwa YMCA will presents ‘Y Sing-along 2009’, a sing along party present by YMCA, Moratuwa will come alive on Sunday, October 18 at the air-conditioned Hotel Ranmal from 6.30 p.m. onwards.

Music for the sing-along will be provided by the ‘Super Pink & Purple’ led by evergreen musician Lincoln de Silva whose band has now become the ultimate choice when it comes to quality sing-along concerts. Their repertoire is remarkable, especially when it comes to Country and Western and vintage music with their violin, banjo and steel guitar sounds. Sohan Weerasinghe and Annesley Malawena will enliven the show with special vocal performances.

The organizers are hopeful of making this event the best sing-along concert ever held in the music scene in the country. The dynamic project committee in headed by former musician and past President of the Moratuwa YMCA Brian Coorey, who is supported by Qurinus Fernando (Project Secretary), Sampath Fernando (Treasurer), assisted by Malindra Fernando, Nihal Peiris, Philip Anthony, Jeffrey Bandara, Suranga Fernando and Roshan Mendis.

This team is ably supported by other sing-along veterans incorporated such as Priya Peiris, Hiran Fernando, Delvin Pereira. The President of the Moratuwa YMCA Lasla Fernando informs that the proceeds of this programme will be utilized for the new building which will accommodate indoor games and other youth activities. President Lasla Fernando, Suren Fernando and Nimal Dias will overlook the committee as ex-officio members.

Tickets for this sing-along concert are priced moderately at Rs. 500/= and could be purchased in advance from the Moratuwa YMCA and locally advertised locations.

An attractive song book comprising 100 songs will be given to every ticket holder at the gate. Hiran Fernando and Delvin Pereira will compere this sing-along show. It is hoped that music lovers and sing-along enthusiasts from Moratuwa and elsewhere will flock in great numbers to experience a wonderful time at this 2 ½ hour long concert.
